Online survey questions

Hi,

Here at Te Papa, We are looking to evaluate our users as part of the first stage of the redevelopment of our website, We like to know what they like on our current site, what they would like to see, what they don't like on the current site, is it easy to find information on our site etc.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who would be willing to share with us some examples of the types of questions they may have asked in online surveys they may have developed for the same purpose.

thanks Belinda

Online Surveys

Hi, all.

We are just beginning to think about doing some site analysis of MoMA.org, more about who are users are, and what we are doing right, and what we are doing wrong, all that info beyond site stats. Was curious to know if you have any tips as to approaches to online surveys. I know there's some simple and cheap software out there. My question is really about the approach, what was more useful than others, what was a waste of time. Anything else you can share would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Maggie

p is for penguin ...

In the usability workshop, we had an excellent example of finding potential problematic areas when we examined the website for the Shedd Aquarium. We hypothesized a user testing scenario involving a middle school student looking for information on Penguins. The test user clicked on Animals, and scrolled through the list of animals looking for Penguins -- scrolling all the way down to P. But there were no Penguins!!! As it turns out, the Penguins (and all animals) are entered in the list with adjectives, and sorted that way, so that Penguins are listed under Gentoo Penguins or Rockhopper Penguins, but not under Penguins!
