Purpose

To create and produce digital content associated with two Cultural Olympiad projects The Road to 2012 and BP Next Generation that are being developed by the Gallery over the next two years. The digital content will be developed for use on-site and online to engage target audiences up to and beyond 2012.

The Guggenheim Museum is seeking a Web Producer to join its Publications/Web site department. This position works directly under the supervision of the Director of Publications who reports to the Deputy Director of External Affairs for the overall strategy, budgets, staffing and operations of the Web site. The Web Producer will lead a Web team (including a web designer, technical developer, and content editors) as well as oversee budgets, schedules, and Web site development.

The Web Producer is responsible for managing day-to-day content updates and production of new subsections for AMNH's public web site, including temporary exhibitions, permanent exhibition information, special events, and regular updates to site areas such as the home page, event calendar, event pages, and visitor information; oversee third-party designers and vendors and manage assigned projects to completion on schedule and on budget; web producer must be able to organize multiple tasks and priorities while acting as liaison between departments to foster collaboration on various projects; the web producer will oversee the scheduling and production of regularly scheduled e-mail marketing communications.
