Just 24 hours to go before heading out of freezing London and jetting to the beautiful tropical beaches of Montreal. Having survived the post-Easter "ooh it wasn't meant to snow at this time of year" blizzard and the anti-Olympics protest police van traffic snarlups, all I need to do is find a plane that's actually operating from our Proud to be British, state-of-the-art, "we told you it would work better if we didn't let any passengers in" Terminal 5 Heathrow. If not, have a lovely conference and I'll see y'all next year ... !

So I've done some work on figuring out what's the best way to keep in touch while I'm in Montreal. I'm attaching my research below, and feel free to add comments to this post about your own carriers.

As you get ready to come to ICHIM07 - the international cultural heritage informatics meeting in Toronto next week, here are a few tips.

• Please register in advance
  There are still spaces available; registering in advance will ensure yours and will also speed your way through registration procedures when you get here. Register on-line to be sure we have your credentials ready
• Airport Transfers
  You've got several options to get downtown: flat rate taxi ($46.00), flat rate limo ($50.00), or airport bus service ($16.95 one way/$29.25 return) to the Delta Chelsea hotel or other downtown destinations. TTC (public transit/good downtown) goes there, but it's a long haul.
• Dress is 'business casual'
  We're not that formal a group. Plan to be comfortable. That's when you have your best ideas, right?
• Our tag - ICHIM07
  Use it for your blog postings, your flickr photos, your del.icio.us tags ... whatever. We'll collect the feed here.
• What about the weather?
  It's fall here; for forecasts, check the weather network, and environment canada . They might agree!

When do we start?

• Pick up your conference credentials at the MaRS Centre, 101 College Street West, Lower Concourse from 8:00 am on Wendesday October 24.

• All registrants for pre-conference tours will have received details about how to meet up with their group.
