the future of the backchannel?

There was quite a timely piece in C|net today about backchannels at tech-related conferences. See "How to survive the next-gen confab . It comes at a time when we're close to wrapping together a set of on-line venues for MW2008.

This will be the third year we've had an on-line space for MW while it was taking place, and afterwards. it seems that this might be the year that it takes off a bit more. If you're out and about on the Web, check out the following

ICHIM papers now in on-line bibliography

paper iconthe papers from all past ICHIM Conferences -- 1991 through 2007 -- are now indexed on-line in the searchable bibliography at http://conference.archimuse.com/researchForum

we've added about 550 citations from ICHIM to those from Museums and the Web, to bring the total number to more than 1150 papers freely available on-line exploring the intersection between museums, culture and heritage and technology, networks and communication.

happy reading !

ICHIM07 online registration extended until Oct 23

If you are coming to ICHIM07 in Toronto next week, please register in advance.

Since it makes your arrival so much easier (for you and for us) if you've pre-registered, we've extended on-line registration through the end of the day on Tuesday October 23, 2007. Register on-line and pay by credit card, and your conference credentials will be waiting for you upon your arrival.

The ICHIM07 papers [online from http://www.archimuse.com/ichim07/speakers/index.html] present all aspects of digital cultural heritage from a range of institutions around the world. If you are interested in culture on-line, ICHIM is the conference for you.

Come and meet some great people, have some good conversations (and great food), and come away with some good ideas.

See you in Toronto!

Online survey questions

Hi,

Here at Te Papa, We are looking to evaluate our users as part of the first stage of the redevelopment of our website, We like to know what they like on our current site, what they would like to see, what they don't like on the current site, is it easy to find information on our site etc.

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who would be willing to share with us some examples of the types of questions they may have asked in online surveys they may have developed for the same purpose.

thanks Belinda
