
The American Museum of Natural History ("AMNH" or the "Museum") seeks a visionary, strategic-minded leader as Vice President and Chief Digital Officer. This is a newly created leadership position at the Museum and an outstanding opportunity to head digital strategy formulation and implementation at one of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions.

The Web Producer is responsible for managing day-to-day content updates and production of new subsections for AMNH's public web site, including temporary exhibitions, permanent exhibition information, special events, and regular updates to site areas such as the home page, event calendar, event pages, and visitor information; oversee third-party designers and vendors and manage assigned projects to completion on schedule and on budget; web producer must be able to organize multiple tasks and priorities while acting as liaison between departments to foster collaboration on various projects; the web producer will oversee the scheduling and production of regularly scheduled e-mail marketing communications. Other duties as required.

The Web Developer is responsible for interactive production, application development, and implementing technical requirements for AMNH's public website, including various exhibition sites, special events sites and regularly updated information areas, including the home page, calendar, event pages, and visitor information; implement third-party and open source applications into existing site to improve site functionality; create page templates, code cross-browser compatible XHTML/HTML/CSS/Javascript for site as required; oversee reporting of website traffic and usage statistics; the production of regularly scheduled e-mail marketing communications; other duties as required.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Digital Projects Manager will be responsible for overall planning and management of projects related to the Library's digital collection. He/she will perform detailed analysis of digitization and digital collection projects. Analysis includes functional needs assessment and requirements specification for new digital collections; specification of workflows for digitizing or capturing, loading, producing metadata for digital library collections; developing budgets for new projects and managing approved projects to completion. Duties include preparation of proposals for projects and developing work plans, schedules and budgets for proposed projects, as well as maintaining documentation for approved projects and preparing status reports. Responsible for the management of digitization projects at various stages from conception through completion.

Scientists at the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI), in cooperation with Field Museum of Natural History, Harvard University, and eight other international partners, have been awarded a five-year National Science Foundation grant to build the Tree of Life for Bivalve Mollusks. We are seeking a motivated, full-time WebMaster to work closely with our research and outreach teams to coordinate all aspects and maintenance of our web presence.
We have an immediate opening for a skilled person with good communication skills to join our not-for-profit team. Participate in the planning, design, implementation, and execution of website activities that will facilitate communication and data-sharing among 15 scientists from 11 different institutions around the globe, translate research results into retrievable knowledge for the lay public, teachers, and students, and produce and maintain web-based deliverables. This is a full-time, five-year position dedicated to the requirements of the grant and other IT needs of PRI. The Paleontological Research Institution, founded in 1932, is located in Ithaca, NY, in the Finger Lakes region of Central New York State. PRI houses large research collections of fossils and modern mollusks and publishes journals and other materials in paleontology and natural history. PRI also has an active educational outreach program and runs a major new exhibits and education facility, the Museum of the Earth. PRI is affiliated with, but administratively independent from, Cornell University.
