
A proposal for collaborating on data standards for photography related information from Luminous-Lint

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Digital Projects Manager will be responsible for overall planning and management of projects related to the Library's digital collection. He/she will perform detailed analysis of digitization and digital collection projects. Analysis includes functional needs assessment and requirements specification for new digital collections; specification of workflows for digitizing or capturing, loading, producing metadata for digital library collections; developing budgets for new projects and managing approved projects to completion. Duties include preparation of proposals for projects and developing work plans, schedules and budgets for proposed projects, as well as maintaining documentation for approved projects and preparing status reports. Responsible for the management of digitization projects at various stages from conception through completion.
Requirements:

Funded under PRTLI 4, the Royal Irish Academy (RIA) and its partners in the Humanities Serving Irish Society Consortium (HSIS) will build a joint national platform for the coordination and dissemination of humanities research, teaching and training at an all-island level. The key infrastructural element of the consortium will be the Digital Humanities Observatory (DHO). The DHO will be an electronic access portal and research resource for the humanities, designed, hosted and operated by the RIA. RIA now invites applications for the following 3-year fixed term contract positions with the DHO:

Metadata for You & Me workshops address the needs of library, museum and cultural heritage professionals in the creation, development and use of interoperable or shareable descriptive metadata. The content of workshops is based on the Best Practices for Shareable Metadata, an initiative of the Digital Library Federation and the National Science Digital Library,
that provides guidance for creating metadata that can be easily understood, processed and used outside of its local environment.
