Standard - 37.5 hrs (M-F, 8:30-5:00)
Job Level D

Essential Duties
1. Under the supervision of the Associate Registrar [Manager of Imaging and Rights and Reproductions], and in cooperation with the Photographer, maintain workflow of new digital images from point of capture to archiving and points of access/delivery, including receiving, processing and archiving digital images created by the photographer in the imaging studio, and scanning images from film.

Digital Preservation Commission: JPEG2000 report

JPEG 2000 a great step forward for the archival community
The Digital Preservation Coalition has examined JPEG 2000 in a report published today. The report concludes that JPEG 2000 represents a great stride forward for the archival community. The format now allows for greater compression rates and a recompression rate that is visually lossless.

The Museum of Modern Art is currently seeking a Digital Image Archiving Technician to join its Department of Imaging Services.

The Department of Imaging Services creates and maintains the highest possible quality digital photographic images of works of art in the MoMA permanent collection as well as works in all ancillary collections. In addition, the Department creates digital images of catalogued analog material held in various departments, including Museum Archives and the Library and creates and maintains installation views of all MoMA exhibitions.
