Lullabot Loves You... I Love Lullabot

Jennifer mentioned in her blog entry last week that I'll be helping out with managing Archives & Museum Informatics' 1275+ member on-line community at http://conference.archimuse.com, as part of my position with the company. Well, in case you didn't know, we use Drupal, an amazing open source content management platform, to run this site. However, considering how powerful Drupal is, it is admittedly rather complex to a non-techie Museum Studies grad like myself.

DrupalCamp Toronto - 2008

I'm hanging out at Drupal Camp in Toronto this week -- listening to other TO-based drupalers talk about what they've done. Here are some notes:

re-Captcha module enabled

i've enabled the recaptcha module, in place of the standard captcha. The difference is that Recaptcha draws extracts from texts in the Internet Archive and presents them to 'solve' rather than randomly munged text. each solution, is a contribution to better texts in the Internet Archive.

the standard module doesn't support theming, so it's a bit jarringly burnt orange, but, it's for a good cause (and we've requested support for theming).

drupal developer for this site

i'm looking for someone interested in working on a contract basis to help develop this site: conference.archimuse.com

if you are very familiar with drupal and its various modules, and are interested in fleshing out the community-based features of this site (including user profiles, tagging and buddies), please contact me.

thanks.
