MW2009: BoF Topics Wanted

mw logo

Once again MW2009 will feature informal discussions on topics of common interest. If you've got an issue you'd like to discuss, we'll set up a venue.

Just drop a comment in this forum to let us know what's on your mind.

MW2008 Birds of a Feather Breakfast Topics

Sponsored by Johns Hopkins University, Museum Studies program

Topical interest tables at breakfast on Friday morning, are always one of the most popular sessions at Museums and the Web (well, except for maybe in New Orleans). An informal breakfast is a great chance to meet people with similar interests from very diverse institutions. You can share solutions to real problems, and even sometimes build relationships that flourish in the coming years.

At breakfast, you can join a table that interests you, or propose a topic on the spot and have others join you at your table. Topics suggested so far include:

  • Geo-encoding collections
  • Handhelds
  • Mashups
  • Open source
  • Personalization
  • Re-purposing media vs. making it new
  • Recommender systems
  • Science learning
  • Second Life
  • Social tagging
  • Teachers using museum resources

Do you have any others to add? Please, leave a comment here!

MW2008: BOF Topics Wanted

Each year at MW we set aside some time for discussion of topics of interest to delegates. In Montréal it will be no different. Birds of a Feather Breakfast tables will be set up on the morning of April 11, 2008.

What topics should they feature? What would you like to talk about? Make your suggestions here!
