The deadline for paper submission has past, and we've had a chance to make a preliminary review of the submissions for Museums and the Web 2007. Chairing a conference is not for the faint of heart; if we were anxious types, we'd be convinced, on September 26th, that there weren't going to be any proposals.
But we live in a 'just-in-time' world, and everyone came through.
Once again, there is a lot of diversity in formats:
| Type | Number of Proposals |
|---|---|
| Interaction | 1 |
| Mini-Workshop | 26 |
| Paper | 145 |
| Professional Forum | 9 |
| Workshop | 24 |
We've also received 20 proposals for Demonstrations; we'll be accepting those through December 31, 2006.
Proposals are now being reviewed by the MW2007 Program Committee. Results will be announced by the end of November. There is an exceptionally strong group of proposals this year, and we're looking forward to a great program.

So I wasn't the only one to submit an abstract on the day of the deadline then! Good to see that the leaving-it-to-the-last-minute strategy is alive and well...
