#0809-210 MULTIMEDIA/WEB DESIGNER, Exhibits. Full-time/Exempt. EEO 6. The Exhibits Division is hiring a Multimedia Designer to help manage, maintain, update and improve Drupal-based websites for its award-winning Science Buzz project (www.sciencebuzz.org) and for a national network dedicated to nanoscale education (NISE Network, Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network - www.nisenet.org).

Responsibilities: Invent and create original multimedia interactive content for exhibits and the web. Program, design, test, produce, and implement multimedia projects using web technologies. Work closely with project planning teams, particularly other media designers, graphic designers, and exhibit developers on specific media projects. Create Drupal theme code and participate in the online Drupal community.

Requirements: BA or equivalent. Demonstrated experience in development of web pages using PHP, MySQL, and the Drupal CMS; hand coding HTML and CSS; and manipulating files on remote webservers using FTP, SSH and basic UNIX commands. Experience using code repositories such as SVN or CVS. Be familiar with all types of multimedia production techniques, including Photoshop and Illustrator. Have excellent project management skills and the ability to work closely with a team and share ideas. Must be self-directed and also able to work cooperatively with others. Possess excellent communication skills.
