We've had several queries about the Best of the Web Awards for 2009. Guess people are planning ahead.
Our schedule will be the same as previous years, with nominations opening in November. Right now, plans are to have all nominations go right to the conference.archimuse.com site [see last year's], so we can all watch them come in.
We're going to run the People's Choice again too. If you have any thoughts about how that went, please let us know.

BofW Award Nomination process
Hi,
Like Genevieve, I am not clear as to the nomination process for BofW. Your link in posting of 9/24 doesn't lead anywhere. Are the nominations still delayed?
Many thanks!
(I guess we're all chewing at the bit!)

sorry -- BoW nominations still not quite ready
sorry -- we're still refining the process of on-line nominations for the Best of the Web 2009 contest.
rather than take down the BoW 2008 ones, we decided to keep them accessible, which means some fiddling to make current and past nominations co-exist happily. and somewhere in there we broke the URL to the 2008 nominations.
here it is now:

slight delay to MW2009 BoW nominations
As i've just posted, we're going to slip slightly on our announced opening for the Best of the Web nominations. But rest assured, there's a good reason!

Best of the Web discussion
if you haven't seen it, there was an interesting discussion about the Best of the Web leading up to BoW 2008 that explored the rationale behind the competition and the goals for its continuance.

Format for submission
Hi,
I am just looking for the requested format for submitting a nomination. Is is just like this, posting it to the thread? What kind of information should I include?
Many thanks,
Genevieve

we've asked for the same kinds of details since 1997 -- when the BoW awards were launched. See the full list of nominations, featured in the 2008 people's choice list for an example. URL FIXED - sorry
