| Abstract | Virtual museums provide an excellent opportunity for museums to partner with schools. Learn how the Bellingham (WA) public schools, a national leader in the development of school Web sites, recognized the potential of a partnership with the Whatcom County Museum of History and Art to develop a virtual museum devoted to local history at the turn of the 19th Century. This paper will describe the strategies needed to cultivate such relationships in terms which museum educators will find valuable as they weigh the opportunities in their own communities. | |
